Powering EasyRide , Switzerland's nationwide Mobile Pay-as-you-Go (MPAYG) ticketing solution

EasyRide allows passengers to check in once, travel seamlessly across Switzerland, and check out at the end of their journey, without worrying about tickets, zones, or operators. Axon Vibe's technology automatically detects complete door-to-door journeys, including transfers, vehicle types, and operators, ensuring correct fare calculation across the entire national network.

Built-in fraud detection continuously identifies irregular behavior such as late check-ins, early check-outs, and location manipulation, protecting system integrity and fare revenue. Today, EasyRide reliably processes more than 5 million journeys every month, with over 700,000 monthly users — and SBB projecting significant further growth in the years ahead.

In 2026, SBB and Axon Vibe took this a step further: passengers travel without any smartphone interaction at all — no check-in, no check-out. Journeys across every mode of transport are detected automatically, fares are calculated with a best-price guarantee, and frequent travelers earn additional rewards through a built-in bonus program. Rather than requiring new infrastructure, Be-in/Be-out ticketing runs on the same proven platform already powering EasyRide's millions of monthly journeys, extending it into a fully interaction-free experience that makes public transport more accessible, more comfortable, and more attractive.

Switzerland operates one of the most complex public transport systems in Europe, spanning hundreds of operators, dense transfer points, and multiple transport modes. When SBB's existing contract for journey and fraud detection reached its end, it re-tendered these mission-critical components for automatic ticketing to ensure long-term reliability, scalability, and future readiness — a tender Axon Vibe won in August 2024.

At the same time, EasyRide adoption was growing rapidly, increasing the demands on fraud prevention and operational robustness. Axon Vibe's solution had to be integrated within a very short timeframe and has been powering EasyRide since October 2025, following a seamless transition into national live operation.
